Spin (called a thaumatrope originally) was a popular toy during the Victorian era, its magic is made possible by the phenomenon of “persistence of vision”. They were among the first optical toys ever created and important to the development of animation. Noted has now dusted off this marvelous old optical toy and given it a modern touch by inviting four artists to re-invent it. The results are original and full of surprises.
